I'd say it is vital when dungeoneering. What is the point in killing several bandits and not returning the stolen property?
Tolkein wrote the book. Without Bilbo they would have had no skill at sneaking...been eaten by trolls, spiders, imprisoned by elves who would forget they were in the dungeons. Every party needs it's safe cracker.
Danger is as far as I can see the X button. Most of you know how fumbly I am and so....looking at an unused object becomes an accidental steal.

Lockpicking skill tree can be useful if you're still having trouble, I never bother with it myself but some people swear by it.

Well congratulations Australia...fancy letting England & Wales win just one cricket match all tour. I thought we had just won the Ashes, but I guess that was last year.

Thanks, I used the bulk purchase when I had the cash option. The accomplice is the lad who revels in explaining to me which buttons to press when. It was so funny watching him break 3 lock picks in a row just trying to prove he was better than me....which in a multiple key pressing nightmare for a myopic individual is definitely true. Now off to hunt down more bandits.

The trick to lockpicking it to tap the lockpick a bit to see if there's ANY resistance.
IF there is, let go immediately, then turn the barrel a little one way until the resistance goes away.

Or get an accomplice and let them fight for you, till you get used to it.

Targeting is just practice, Nords are from Skyrim.

You can buy lockpicks from some shops (only a few) and lots if you join the thieves guild.

If you have played this game, I would welcome advise. For instance so far I have fallen off a tower after logging back in. ( I know this will surprise no one who believes I have only 1% perception, but I had just saved after a fight with bandits. Now I have mastered the art of saving progress, I seem to be stuck in a labyrinthine barrow.
The spider was very tricky and because of failure to remember to save progress had to be repeatedly fireballed and duelled with because I was promptly beaten up by zombies after zapping him to bits. If you have any cure for poor targeting skill (other than endless practice). Cool. If I am a Nord, where do the Nords live? or should I just follow the plot line?
Opening chests is tricky and I am running out of lock picks..where can I buy spares?

The usual. Some cash from Dad, spent at the Juboraj at Ari's birthday party.
Some socks.
Technically half share in a PS3 for the boy & post traumatic stress disorder after fighting the federation for a few hours. I got him Fifa yesterday and hopefully that will ween him of the shoot em ups.
Lots of food as Dad foolishly unpacked the hamper from Uncle John.
Lots of fun hunting the screws to fix my telescope to it's tripod...I guess I will have to order them from China.
A book by Ray Davies (not the singer, the miner and activist)
Some cards.
An amazon gift card, that V got because he knows how to use Amazon.
A DVD...about the mysterious Yale spy club, mentioned in Scott Fitzgerald's book A Perfect Girl..."The Good Shepherd" with French subtitling Catrin knows I need to keep up my French.
Some mysterious pants lobbed into my room, without invitation (not sure they were clean, but trying them out)
A copy of the umpteenth edition of CoC as the players couldn't find a free character generator for the older systems.
