Celtic Carols

Away at a Campsite
(to away in a manger)

Away at a campsite
Kipping in a church hall
A bunch of rough warriors lay down on stone floors
Some officers glumly looked down where they lay
Knowing few would be conscious till noon the next day

The youngest were moaning
Throwing up on the floor
But most of the veterans had passed out long before
The queue for the toilets was a pain for them all
and they wished they had found the alternative hall

At eight the next morning
The few who were keen
Practicing combat in the car-park were seen
The battle was over far to quickly I fear
But still all of us come back to Yorvik each year.
