Also, as the DOW lobby is at times unreliable, using Hamachi is a good idea. It creates a gaming network for you and it's free.

Plus you need to patch up in Soulstorm here:
http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/files/Dawn_of_War_Soulstorm/Official_Releases/Patches;10342

Specifically the first patch:
http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Soulstorm_Patch_110;95050

The second patch:
http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Soulstorm_11_to_12_hotfix;95353

These are above are all official patches, so are worth getting.

And also get the DOW Skirmish mod itself here:
http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Dawn_Of_Skirmish;96254

We also use xfire, which is a good chat client, it has a very stable voice chat function:
http://www.xfire.com/
Just download it , install it and create a user ID.

Downloaded the DOW2 multiplayer beta from Steam.
You can get it now if you have Soulstorm, otherwise you have to wait until next week.
First you need to install steam if you don't have it and if you didn't et soulstorm via steam, add it to steam and activate it (using your reg code).
Then you'll be able to download the DOW2 beta.

It's about a 2.2 gb download, it's quite different than DOW, smaller scale, prettier.
Some will not like it as it looks and plays quite differently than DOW.
I liked it enough I suppose, it's hard to say though I only played it for about 30 minutes.
More tactical, you only control a few ppl in a unit and more more limited amount of units, plus building stuff (buildings) is not so big a part of the game.

Personally, I think it was the right thing to do for them, if they just made a DOW2 more or less the same as DOW but with better graphics, it would probably seen as a cop out.
Not sure if I'll actually buy it yet, gonna see how things pan out.
